PHILOSOPHY

Courtney + Michael are a husband and wife team who believe in togetherness and capturing the glorious little moments for those inevitable rainy days.

We believe in love and connection.
We believe in stunning images.
And mostly, we believe that the making of said images should be a sweet and enjoyable experience, so you can lean into kisses, giggle about inside jokes we may never understand or sit quietly together in a moment that feels so sticky and delicious, it could be in slow motion.

We are seekers of beauty and look for it in its simplest forms in our day to day lives. We realize that a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime memory and therefore worthy of every single minute, penny, thought and endless energy  you invest to make it one of the best days of your (and your guests’)  lives!

We surf, we hike, we have wine and oysters whenever we can. We have backyard fires with friends, spontaneously pop a tent on an island for the night and love indulgent stays at insta-worthy hotels with sweeping foreign vistas and poolside service. We shop at local as possible, recognize quality + community and are willing to invest a little extra for it. We love and support local businesses, services and good people as best we can.

We believe hard work pays off and that living life to the fullest - through being intentional in relationships, making time for health, wellness + family, and also leaving space for travel and adventure - is key.

This is the lens we see the world through. It’s a beautiful life - let’s celebrate it together!

STYLE + APPROACH

How did you come to be a professional photographer?
This is a fun one! While I wish I could say that I was born with a camera in my hand, I didn’t come to photography until after undergrad. Born from work in branding, social media and graphic design, my appreciation for photography soared as I longed to make the gorgeous images I begged my clients for. I studied photojournalism at Maine Media College and came to appreciate light, composition, pose, gesture, patina and all of the artful elements a camera could capture. My love of life’s more optimistic moments made weddings, lifestyle and interior/brand photography a perfect fit. I still love what I do everyday!

How would you describe your style?
I use the term visual storyteller here to articulate my intentions. If I could write a sweeping and descriptive novel of your wedding day or lifestyle session, I would use words like connection, patina, touch, experience, sound, light, air and space.

Do you travel?
Absolutely! My Sagittarius sun revels in adventure to new lands near and far. I set a flat rate travel fee depending on the distance and duration of your nuptials so we can take care of the booking ourselves (you’ve got enough on your plate!).

Do you have a list of favorite wedding vendors you could share?
Yes! I would love to share these with you. We have a comprehensive list of vendors we have worked with over the years that we know you’ll love. These are all very talented, kind and professional humans.

Do you work with a second shooter?
Yes, the majority of the time I shoot with my husband Michael! We consider ourselves a husband-wife team and have been since the beginning in 2013. If for some reason Michael is unavailable on your date, I have a select few talented professionals I work with often.

Do you offer walk-throughs for venues you haven’t shot at before?
I love shooting at new venues! Of course, we have some favorites that we’ve frequented, but I love the fresh perspective and creativity that comes with exploring a new space with your story in mind. We always arrive a little early to scout and get to know the area and make some location decisions. In special circumstances, we may plan a site visit with a planner ahead of time.

THE FUN BITS

What is your favorite part of the wedding day?
All of it. Honest answer. I live for the giddy pajama-and-curler hugs, stunning flat-lays, artful portraits, happy ceremony tears, a rowdy recession, good food, cocktail hour laughter, family traditions, big dance moves and the tangible energy of festivity and connection.

Should we do an engagement shoot?
More often than not my couples elect to do a lifestyle session 4-12months before their wedding. It’s a fun and romantic way to get to know each other better… and, bonus!, have some beautiful images in a non-wedding outfit for your walls. Also, in a time as busy as the months leading up to your wedding, when was the last time you had an unplugged date night or walked through something new together at your favorite place in perfect light?

Will you help us choose location and outfits for our engagement shoot?
I’m here for all of it! We’ll work together to choose a location that is beautiful and means something to you. As for outfit choices, I’ve got your back! Once we book, I’ll send along a beautiful guide to all things wedding and shoot preparation.

THE NITTY-GRITTY

What are your rates?
Day of coverage by Courtney starts at $6800. Couples typically invest $8,500-14,500 for a weekend-long celebration with all of their favorites.

Tell us about your final product - what, when and how!
The goods! All of my proposals include an online gallery of high-resolution image files for printing + social sharing, as well as a personal print release. You can expect a peek of 30-50 images within 48-72hours of your session and the full lifestyle and wedding galleries at 2-4weeks and 6-8weeks, respectively.

Do you offer fine art albums or prints?
Oh, yes! You’ll have access to a fine art printing lab through your online gallery. I also offer custom album design and gorgeous hand-crafted heirloom print albums for your forever keepsakes.

Do you have insurance?
Yes! I have insurance for both liability and equipment. I am happy to provide a COI upon request.

Do you have back-up gear?
100%! Always! We shoot Canon and both my second shooter and I carry back ups of everything. Technology is a blessing, but we also know Mercury retrograde can come in unannounced - scout’s motto - be prepared!

This feels great! How do we reserve our date with you?
Hooray! Send me an email through my contact form so we can schedule a call to go over all of your details and make a plan! We require a contract and 30% non-refundable reservation retainer fee to officially reserve your date.

She is not only an incredibly talented photographer, but she is a kind, thoughtful and genuine person! Throughout our wedding day she helped us relax and feel ourselves during those intense moments!

-Michael
